Huttopia accommodation, a philosophy of life

Huttopia is an independent company created by Céline and Philippe Bossanne, nature-loving campers and inveterate travelers. In the 90s, during a two-year stay in Canada, they discovered a new art of camping. 24 years later, under the Huttopia brand or as part of the CityKamp and OnlyCamp networks, the company operates nearly 90 sites in 8 countries.

Coming to Huttopia means enjoying the great outdoors, being close to nature and experiencing it with family and friends, sharing simple moments: preparing meals, eating, having fun, walking, contemplating the landscape, listening to the sounds of nature, reading, hiking, cycling, not forgetting falling asleep under the stars…!

On the Ile de Ré, Huttopia has three destinations: Chardons Bleus, Côte Sauvage and Ars-en-Ré, each with its own distinct and complementary ambience.

HUTTOPIA CHARDONS BLEUS CAMPSITE

Located between Sainte-Marie-de-Ré and La Flotte, the Huttopia Chardons Bleus campsite is in the heart of a magnificent pine forest, a 10-minute bike ride from the ocean. Here, you can enjoy a sunny vacation with your whole tribe, between ocean, forest and typical villages.
Tents, motorhomes, caravans and vans are welcome on spacious, shaded pitches with electricity. More atypical accommodations with a variety of comforts are also available.

The campsite has two outdoor swimming pools, one of which is heated, and a paddling pool for the little ones. To enjoy the sand and the sound of the waves, head for Montamer beach, just 2 km from the campsite. You can also stop off at the Café-Comptoir for a drink, an aperitif with friends or an ice cream with the family.

A program of summer activities geared towards discovering nature and the region is available 6 days a week for all families: foreshore discovery, yoga, Petits Trappeurs, etc.

HUTTOPIA CÔTE SAUVAGE CAMPSITE

Here, in the south of the Ile de Ré, stay in a haven of peace just 20 meters from the ocean: an exceptional beachfront location. If you’re a fan of the van life, this is the campsite for you! The Huttopia Côte Sauvage campsite is also the ideal starting point for discovering the island and its riches: typical villages, large wild pine forests and vast stretches of beach… Bike hire is available on site, with direct access to the cycle path.

For a ready-to-camp experience, sleep under the stars in our fully-equipped Toile & Bois tents, perfectly integrated into the unspoilt coastal landscapes.

In summer, festivities and conviviality are the order of the day, with a program of activities as well as numerous evening events!
Feeling hungry? Camping Huttopia Côte Sauvage offers simple, local cuisine, accompanied by a selection of wines and local produce.

HUTTOPIA ARS-EN-RÉ CAMPSITE

Ideally located 2 km from the typical village of Ars-en-Ré and 50 meters from Radia beach, the Huttopia Ars-en-Ré campsite is the new and third Huttopia destination on the Ile de Ré. It offers an exceptional location on the north of the island and by the ocean for holidaymakers looking for a rejuvenating break. A little secret paradise at the tip of the Ile de Ré!

Every camper has his own way of camping! Whether you like to camp as a couple or with your family, in a tent, caravan or camper van, there’s sure to be a pitch for you on the 5.5-hectare Huttopia Ars-en-Ré campsite.

Staying here means enjoying the pleasures of fishing on foot and coming back to feast on your catch of clams, crabs or shrimps before taking a dip in the sea, without moderation. For those who enjoy cultural outings, meet new people and discover the region’s heritage during the many activities on offer at the campsite in summer, for children and adults alike. There’s also table tennis, petanque and a volleyball court.

At the Huttopia campsite in Ars-en-Ré, after a busy day, relax on the terrace of the emblematic Café-Comptoir. Local products and wines will delight gourmets of all ages, where simple cuisine and conviviality are one and the same!
