The Heritage Days

Created in 1984 by the French Ministry of Culture, they offer a unique opportunity to discover the region’s exceptional places and sites.

The Heritage Days are coming to the Ile de Ré!

Every year in September, it’s a not-to-be-missed event!

The Communauté de Communes and all the players in the local area will be taking part in the European Heritage Days to offer you a programme packed with discoveries!

Theme of the 2024 Heritage Days :

  • Heritage routes, networks and connections
  • Maritime heritage

In 2024 it will be the 41ᵉ J.E.P.

To mark the occasion, the maritime heritage of the Ré region is being honoured with a number of events, including visits to fish locks. Did you know that, at the beginning of the last century, there were over a hundred fish locks around Ré and that fewer than twenty remain today? Find out more about their history and why they have such a unique heritage character on one of the organised outings!

And don’t miss the latest edition of the immersive game inspired by the famous Cluedo®, devised and performed by teams from the Communauté de communes.

This year, they’ll be helping you to discover the island’s former hospital through a detective story full of twists and turns…
