Day 2

Discovery and the gentle way of life à la rétaise

Put yourself in the shoes of the Retais for this second day, and start by renting a bicycle or tandem for even more romance.

Cycling allows you to admire the splendid landscapes of this unique island at your own pace.
Head for La Flotte and explore its narrow streets, medieval-inspired market and bustling port, and surrender yourself to this small village of unrivalled charm.

Return to your bikes and head for Saint-Martin, where you’ll enjoy lunch on a terrace overlooking the port. After lunch, explore the Vauban fortifications, flower-filled alleyways and typical port. Saint-Martin’s observatory bell tower is a unique place from which to take in the views, the village and much more.
Enjoy an aperitif on the port of Saint-Martin before dining in the restaurant of your choice for a well-deserved evening for two.

Now’s the time to push yourselves to the limit together, with water sports such as surfing or windsurfing, or down-to-earth activities such as horseback riding on the beach or guided gourmet tours.

In the afternoon, make the most of the last few moments of the day with a stroll along the ocean or through the village of your choice. Pack your bags with local produce and other souvenirs from the Ile de Ré, if you feel like it.
