 Day 1

Gentle escapade, fishing and lounging in the south of France

Morning: Whether you’re a budding fisherman or a professional, discover the marine life on the south beach of Rivedoux to start your family holiday.

The island of Ré is renowned for many reasons, but one in particular is the diversity of its flora and fauna, especially in the sea. You’ll need to respect the size and weight of the shells you collect. You can obtain a ruler and a guide to shellfishing at the Tourist Office.

Afternoon: After a more or less fruitful harvest, head for the village and beach of Sainte-Marie for an afternoon of idleness, swimming and sandcastles. If your little ones are tempted, next to Montamer beach is the ANCRE Maritaise, where you can discover the island’s natural and built heritage.

 Day 2

Saint-Martin and La Flotte, the gentle way of life and strolling

Morning: For this second day, put yourself in the shoes of the locals by (re)discovering La Flotte’s medieval-inspired market and strolling through its narrow streets and harbor.

Along the seafront, you’ll even find children’s playgrounds, where you can take a break and admire the ocean while your little ones enjoy themselves.

Afternoon: It’s time to meet the island’s stars, the donkeys in knickerbockers, located in Saint-Martin’s Parc de la Barbette. If your little ones are so inclined, they can take a ride on a donkey. To continue discovering the village, take a walk through the fortifications and relive the era of Vauban.

At snack time, let yourself be tempted by an ice cream on the harbor, a guaranteed treat.

 Day 3

An iodized day out at sea and exploring the surrounding area

Today, get your hats, sun cream, sunglasses and camera ready, and we’ll take you aboard one of our boats for an unforgettable day at sea. Whether you’re more of a sailboat or motorboat enthusiast, a long or short outing, an excursion or not, there’s a wide range of offers to make your day!

Would you or your little ones like to get closer to Fort Boyard? There are several outings to choose from. If you’re more interested in a lazy day out on foot or by bike, head for Ile d’Aix, a 3km-long island.

If you’re more into long outings and picnics at sea, several of our service providers will be on hand to help you spend a unique moment with your family!
A change of scenery and inspiration for the whole family.

 Day 4

Between land and sea, history and nautical activities

Morning: Fascinated by history and intriguing anecdotes? The island of Ré has plenty to offer.

Spend your morning learning about the history of our beautiful island by taking part in a guided tour, an Escape Game or a treasure hunt – virtual or real, paid or free – something to please young and old alike.

Afternoon: Surfing, paddle-boarding, windsurfing, canoeing and a variety of water sports are on the program for safe family fun.

For more leisurely activities, you can take a paddle or canoe out for a family afternoon filled with emotions and breathtaking scenery. The island of Ré has no shortage of sailing and surfing schools.

 Day 5

The north, nature reserve and idleness at Trousse-Chemise

Morning: Get on your bikes and head for the salt marshes for a morning exploring the Lilleau des Niges nature reserve. The best way to discover the island and its jewels is by bike.

This ornithological reserve has seen the observation of over 310 species of birds, as well as a number of mammals and reptiles sharing the land. Return to the village of Portes-en-ré for lunch in an oyster shack or local restaurant.

Afternoon: After a morning rich in learning and discovery, enjoy a lazy afternoon on one of the most beautiful beaches on the Ile de Ré: the Trousse-Chemise beach. Wild and shady, it offers breathtaking scenery and safe play for the little ones.

 Day 6

The Phare des Baleines and Ars, a must-see on the Ile de Ré

Morning: Take a stroll through the artisan village of Loix, where you can visit the honey factory and the family soap factory. Don’t hesitate to head to the village center to stroll through the streets and head to the Grouin beach for a moment of relaxation before lunch.

Afternoon: From Loix, follow the cycle paths to the Phare des Baleines. After an hour’s cycling through the salt marshes, you’ve finally arrived!

After climbing the 257 steps, you’ll have a panoramic view of the Ile de Ré and its inlets. Reward your efforts with an ice cream at the foot of the lighthouse, followed by a lazy afternoon on the beach.

 Day 7

A final day of idleness and local shopping

This last day in Retouan is dedicated to lazing around and shopping.

Enjoy a last moment on the beach to capture unforgettable memories with your family.

Before closing your suitcases, enjoy a shopping session to bring a piece of the Ile de Ré back home to your loved ones. Enjoy the flavours of our island home all year round with a taste of the region’s treasures. From artisanal cookies and potatoes to beers, jams, spirits, honey and delicious Retais salt.

Discover these delights at our local producers, markets, stores, tourist offices and cooperatives. Take the delights of the island with you, while promoting short circuits and local producers.
