By bike
The most typical way to get around the island is, of course, by bike: eco-friendly, practical, sporty and often faster than the car on busy days. With 138 km of cycle lanes and a flat surface, the island of Ré stands out as the ideal destination for lovers of cycling and soft mobility.
In every village, you’ll find a wide range of bike rental outlets, including electric-assist bikes.
On foot
In the villages, walking is also a great way to enjoy all the island has to offer, while at the same time getting some exercise, distances remaining reasonable.
By bus
On site, you can take the same buses as those arriving from La Rochelle: the 3 and the 3E.
From Sablanceaux to Les Portes-en-Ré, passing through all the island’s villages and main points of interest, the bus makes it easy to get around and reduces traffic on the roads.
Single ticket: €2.30, return ticket: €4.10.
