We love water, we preserve it

Responsible tourism in Charente-Maritime

In the Charente-Maritime region, drinking water resources are severely stretched during the summer months.

Restrictions are sometimes necessary, but they can be avoided.

That’s why your tourist office invites you to help protect this precious resource by following a few simple, effective tips.

Compared with conventional consumption, these gestures can save 500 liters per person, over a week*.

Where does water come from on the Ile de Ré?

100% of our water comes from the mainland.

It travels up to 70 km of network to be pumped, purified and brought to the island.
