Commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation - Street parade and concert
On 9 May 1945, the day after the German capitulation and almost a year after the Normandy landings, the island of Ré was officially liberated.
In Ars-en-Ré, on Saturday 24 May 2025, a walk starting at 11am from the cemetery will explore the traces of the occupation in the town.
In the evening, a concert by the Philharmonic will bring the day to a close.
