On 9 May 1945, the day after the German surrender and almost a year after the Normandy landings, the island of Ré was officially liberated.
In Ars-en-Ré, on Sunday 25 May 2025, meet at the church square.
At 11 a.m., local children will take part in a parade dressed in period costume.
At 11.30am, the commemorative ceremony will take place, with songs, speeches and an aperitif offered by the town hall at 12pm.
There will then be a picnic in the countryside - everyone is welcome...
