On the Ile de Ré, in Loix, on an exceptional site on the banks of the Fier d'Ars, the Prise de la Lasse, the Écomusée du Marais Salant invites you to discover traditional salt-making through exhibitions and guided tours of a working salt marsh.
Discover the salt marshes of the Retais: after visiting an exhibition with a theme that varies from year to year, a guide uses a model to explain how the salt marshes work and then accompanies visitors around the site. During the tour, visitors will learn about the work of the salt worker, the specific flora of the marshes: glasswort, statis, mustard and, depending on the season, migratory birds: geese, shelducks, egrets, etc.
