Discover the former Ars-en-Ré railway station, now the Philippe Deschamps gallery
Originally, this gallery was Ars-en-Ré's passenger station, used in the days of the Tortillard, the Île de Ré's economy train, and the port. It therefore had direct access to the loading quay via a goods hall for the ships next door. Built at the end of the XIXᵉ century, its architecture is typical of railway stations of its era and makes it easy to identify its primary function.
Today, it has become an art gallery for painter Philippe Deschamps with a view over the port.
