On the Ile de Ré, on an exceptional site on the banks of the Fier d'Ars and the Prise de la Lasse, the Écomusée du Marais Salant invites you to discover traditional salt-making through exhibitions and guided tours of a working salt marsh.
Discover the salt marshes of the Retais at Loix: after a visit to the exhibition with a theme that varies from year to year, a guide explains how the salt marshes work using a model, and then accompanies visitors around the site.
During the tour, you'll learn about the work of the salt worker and the specific flora of the marshes: glasswort, statis, mustard and, depending on the season, migratory birds: geese, shelducks, egrets, etc.
