The Petit Bec beach is a surf spot located in the commune of Les Portes-en-Ré.
The Petit Bec beach is a surf spot located on the Pointe du Lizay in the north west of the Ile de Ré.
The point is home to three of the island's major surf spots: Diamond Head, Petit Bec and Lizay. The beach is exposed to the swell as it faces the Atlantic Ocean.

It is a continuation of the Conche des Baleines beach. To get to the beach, we recommend taking the Lizay forest through the hamlet of La Rivière, nestled between woodland and marshland.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Ile de Ré, with a transparent sea in shades of turquoise. You can also admire a magnificent sunset.
For swimming, there are a few rocks at low tide. On the other hand, the sandy seabed offers a fast and pleasant wave to surf.
There are a number of blockhouses that bear witness to the Atlantic Wall, and some scenes from the film ‘The Longest Day’ were filmed on this beach.

Swimming is supervised in July and August by the Fédération Française de Sauvetage et Secourisme from 11am to 7pm.
