Ecomuseum dedicated to the history and maritime and popular traditions of the Ile de Ré. A visit full of island flavours on 4 exhibition levels:
- origins of the island and remains of the Abbaye des Châteliers (12th century), traditional activities: agriculture, fishing, oyster farming (model boats).
- The island's traditional activities: agriculture, fishing, oyster farming (model boats), headdresses, costumes, Charentais interiors with period furniture, a fine collection of photos of Rétais taken at the beginning of the last century
- maritime links between Re-continent (from ferries to bridges)
- temporary exhibition 2023: "Loisirs en Ré, 1850-1939
- museum visit leaflet in French and English.
The Musée du Platin also offers guided tours and activities:

April to June and from September to October: Monday to Friday from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm.
